Struggle at work :)

I publish this blog as a way to express my gratitude for LXD for shaping to be a tougher person in 2024

July 2024

At my team, Learning Experience Design Unit (LXD). I don’t know why just one sentence of P’Anne could shrink my idea of giving up. She told me to look for ways of moving forward better. It's not about it's easier to work with certain people, but it's about being tough to deal with everyone. In further course development stages, I must be better at collaborating with tough individuals.

Given the grand scope of the Connect+ program, being well promoted in public, internally, we are still in the middle of many things! It bothers me. I don’t want to deliver poor educational outcomes to students. Yes, they are willing to pay money for a degree. But it doesn’t mean that as long as we can sell the program, then it’s done. It’s not! We have to be accountable for creating positive impacts on their self-development; or at least supporting them to achieve certain goals.

Let’s say they don’t want to learn but gain new networks. Which part of the program allows them to connect with their peers? Where are those opportunities for them to pursue their own interests? I have so many questions as I design my courses. Every time I explain to someone about what I do, I have to adjust my language, depending on the background and interest of that one. If they are familiar with education, I would explain what I do in depth. Otherwise, I could pick up a simpler explanation to show the purpose and description of my job. And I am always happy about that. :)

I have wondered everyday, what I want to learn more? What challenges do I want to tackle?

I feel that nudging with the professors is not the skill that I want to attain. Not being in a corporate with serious looking people, and Sasin has to strengthen a sense of community within the organization. I want to see how the content I design gets delivered to students. When can it be studied? I don’t think I could be part of the production team of a movie?! I can, but it should guarantee the completion timeline, and we would love to work with like-minded people who have the same goals and commitment. Really hope that we no longer have to extend the timeline of our development process.
