I publish this blog as a way to express my gratitude for LXD for shaping to be a tougher person in 2024
Spontaneously grabbing this book, out of free time, Helping Educator Grow (Eleanor Drago)
It turned out to be a super fascinating read about “how to Build leadership with educators” - supporting them means supporting myself, building their capacity as a task of leadership, where I will have to develop internal capacities, the enhancement of affective skills (emotional intelligence), effective functions and cognitive skills to interact with myself and others.

I am gravitated by every word of this book as the author told her story of her husband. He allowed her to grow, becoming and discover a new way of being where she attained more capacities, competencies, and capabilities. The marriage was born out of their personal and professional relationship where a deep sense of listening and questions lays the foundation. He asked her questions that open her mind towards alternative perspectives to think and act. He made her feel safe to share fear, anxiety, things that might disappoint others she loves, things that she deeply values. That sense of safety encouraged her to take risks and try out new things.
I learned that this author seems to be a student of Thich Nhat Hanh. Her book’s language is really authentic and embraces mindfulness. Breathing, living, and loving are blended throughout situations, examples and her invitation that such framework and tools of knowledge would hopefully transcend context. Meaning I could bring them into my workplace and my living environments. I hope so, to feel being held, not just with the one, but also with all of the people I am privileged to work with and learn from. They are wonderful human beings and own their vast life experiences and wisdom.
I promise to think of this task of leadership more often as I design courses and communicate with the professors. I would like to build the safe space that we will become partners, we could contribute ideas and make decisions together. A safe space for development of self, and our organizational goals. I could do it!
Now, I’ll go attend the Sasin Community Event. Wonder what it’s like! :)
Quoted from Stefano:
“Thank you for being helpful.”
From Aj Amm:
“Sharing how the content is constructed from a student perspective really helps me to rethink how I structure my course.”
I am glad that I came to observe Stefano’s class on EMBA this morning. I feel closer, more connected with him as an ID and as a person. He is approachable, honest, friendly in class.
In order to understand why an educator do certain things, I should try to understand them doing different things, seeing how they show up in teaching, in normal conversations, in their interacitons with other colleagues. I believe why we do things in certain way lays in our mental models and our personality. So in order to know what the educators struggle with, it’s to see what part they are comfortable to talk about, what relationships they value. Our relationships define us as a person. Now I got more inspiration to work on my course development!
I’ve learned the following challenges that educators face:
Not digging too deep into students’ profiles. Oftentimes, having a short intro in the first class is the only chance to know their needs, but not what they actually know (background knowledge) - may need a more comprehensive test? Is it necessary?
Assuming that their content is inherently connected and things are digestible to students.
Not clear what it means by "Learning Objectives."
Not seeing the interaction between the goal they set, what they teach, and assess if students have achieved their own goals. Prioritize the teaching content coming from the educators. -> the gap of meanings, and impacts between teaching activities, assessments and setting learning outcomes.--> struggle to build a learning journey.

Inspiration from Pottery?
Be a good listener, observer, look out for body language, and subtle signs that reflect upon beyond the words we hear. But we also need to be aware of the relationships, the feelings, of the faculties. Then we could approach things along the way.
