06 of March: the power of face-to-face interaction & intrinsic motivation

I just got 3 continuous hours meeting my teammate for the first time. I had never expected so much how my team would be, what their personality can be... I believe that whatever happens is the flow of nature.

Therefore, we all joined this program for certain reasons, we all are in a team for different reasons and my intuition tells me that we are much aligned to each other's values and life principles. Things always turn out to be better if there is not high expectation on how they should be. The more we try to change things to meet the need of ourselves, it seems that the more we are going against the nature. The stream is supposed to go down as the natural flow. Human used to be believed to be united in the beginning of the human evolution, then there is somehow some power that keeps disturbing our collaboration by dividing the world into many cultures, languages, nations,...That power is not superficial but the common difference or challenges that always exist as the rule of life.

Right from the first moment seeing my teammate, I got the instinct feeling that we can strong trust each other and collaborate for a shared vision. Until she really expressed her want to be in a team that all can have the autonomy to work and grow but at the same time to achieve a common goal.

Her concern is about a migration which is not so relevant to mine, yet it is! In fact, we both care and favor to work with people, in another way, called "human interaction", a sense of being. She is the first person I know whose consideration is about ethical migration services with the mission to help the diverse migrants to settle all migrating process without the involvement of the recruting agency. It is a very complex issue that there are so many unknown problems for the migrants to SG which are totally not mentioned by the agency. The long-term working duration, the treatment of the companies, the healthcare insurance, etc are almost kept as secrets to these vulnerable beings who should be equally treated as ordinary people.

From another angle, migration or environment or any problems are all rooted from mindset of human that originated all the way back in the first place. She asked an interesting question that I have never been asked before "Why when I grow up in a rural area that has been industrialized over time and facing increasing issues related to migration, environment, social safety, education, ... I chose education as the prioritized concern?". The answer is all the connected dots for all reasons that have uniquely called my heart and called her heart as well.

The inner aspiration can dive us in doing such things that are uncertain, unpredictable, constantly changing, risky, disrupting, intangible, etc but can give us the sense of fulfillment and living. Given that the growing environment is not an ideal place that we are looking for to live in or to create, that is our home which partly shapes our current self. We should never either deny accepting whatever failure or mistakes we encounter or blame the hometown that embraces our childhood as the cause of our shortcomings. It is the nature that gives us the intrinsic motivation to thrive for what we love. I have no chance to learn Psychology in my uni, as long as I have such a hunger for learning and understanding psychology, I keep meeting people who are passionate about psychology since I left my school. It is once again the law of attraction, the only one-size-fit-all truth in the universe. That just happened to me again today. The universe really drives people from everywhere towards me to engage me and nurture me in psychology.

Last but not least, the only way to solve problems is to solve the problems.

In a sense, there is no point in avoiding the problems in order to be fine, unless we encounter the problems, then we can be fine. If 2 parties try to avoid mentioning the problems in a relationship, the eventual ending will be the end of the relationship because of the ever-lasting-unsolved misunderstanding.

Actions speak louder than words thus I will not just throw out words if I do not have real experience.
